Bend, Oregon

My Hometown

Bend, Oregon started as a mill town. Logs were cut up river and sent down the Deschutes to Bend where they would be processed at the mill, which is now the shopping center of the Old Mill. Originally people believed La Pine, 45 minutes south of Bend, would grow to be a big town while Bend stayed behind, but it happened the other way around. Bend holds a natural beauty as it sits between the high dessert and the forest, has a river running through it, and sits under the protection of the Cascade mountains.

I moved to Bend when I was 7, and at first I was certain I'd hate it. Slowly, Bend grew on me. The nature, the river, the trees, the adventures to have. The people, the mountains, the Deschutes River all made a place for me to call home. Bend will always be a part of my heart and the place I grew up. No matter where I wander Bend Oregon will always be a part of me.
